• Trendy Socialite Review: Pampered Pits by Sydelle Cosmetics

I recently had the opportunity to try Sydelle Cosmetic’s Pampered Pits. I met the lovely owner at Koils by Nature’s INHMD event in 2013. She graciously agreed to sponsor a giveaway for my reaching the milestone of 10,000 YouTube subscribers! This allowed me the opportunity to try the popular Pampered Pits for myself. According to the Sydelle Cosmetics’ website, Pampered Pits is an “organic, moisturizing deodorant to keep your skin beautiful, healthy and unbelievably smooth. A little goes a long way to keep you fresh from shower to shower.”

I chose the Pampered Pits Solid in Almond Elegance:

Ingredients: Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Zea Mays Polysaccharide (Corn) Starch, Beeswax, Sodium Bicarbonate (
Baking Soda) and Natural Fragrance

The 2.6 ounces yields an approximately 7-9 month supply of deodorant. The first thing I noticed was the scent. It was clean, almondy (yes, that is an adjective–smile), and relatively strong (not in a pungent way–just in a scentful way). For me, this was not an issue, but for those of you that desire a lighter, less noticeable scent–this may not be the scent for you to try initially. They do have an unscented version for those of you that do not want a scent

I have heard some people claim that it does not give them the all-day hold they desire. I started using this deodorant in October and, for me, it lasted all day. At this time, I can’t say how it will hold up during a North Carolina summer (smile).

I have also heard from some of my Instagram family about possible discoloration. I have used this product for almost a month now and have not experienced this. However, there is also something that I do that I think may help minimize this occuring. At least once a week (sometimes more), I use a body scrub to exfoliate under my arms. This removes excess skin, deodorant build-up and keeps my underarms baby smooth.

If you experience discoloration or hyperpigmentation under your arms, I learned this tip in a beauty forum:

After your shower and before applying lotion or deodorant, apply lemon juice to a cotton ball and rub it under your arms.
Over time the discoloration will lessen.

The only thing that I noticed about Pampered Pits that wasn’t my favorite feature was it doesn’t glide on as easily as other deodorants. I usually ended up rubbing it in using my fingers to make sure it was applied throughly. Reminded me of watching my grandmother apply Tussy deodorant (remember that? LOL).

I will say that I really like this product! It is definitely on the future purchase list. As a wrap up, here is a summary of my thoughts on Pampered Pits by Sydelle Cosmetics.

Pros:

  • Strong scent
  • All day hold and scent (at least in cooler temperatures)
  • All natural ingredients

Cons:

  • Strong scent (if you prefer something less noticeable)
  • Doesn’t glide as easy as some other deodorants

I do recommend trying this product. You may order it here.
